passion and commitment to the power of six

I came into that initial meeting, expecting to have a few laughs, a few brownies, and exchange a few ideas. What I came out with was a incredible feeling of belonging, of anticipation and and urge to take charge…as well as some brownies and yes, some laughs.

It was early last fall  when I got together with 5 other artists to discuss our goals, our passion and our intentions to make our work a priority. That day, art6 was born. We decided that together we can combine our marketing efforts, we can continue to do what we love, and we can also give back to the community.

We are a group of 6 artists with six visions, six different styles, and one passion: Painting. Our styles vary from realism, to landscapes, from whimsical to the total abstract. From oil to acrylic to collage.

We had an incredibly successful group show of 20 artists in November (Unframed) which benefited The Atheneum School of the Arts where we all met, and was organized in honor of our incredibly kind and talented teacher Reed Cardwell.

These days, we are working hard on our upcoming show in February: Temptation6. Temptation6 will benefit ArtReach, a non-profit organization that offers on-site visual arts instruction to San Diego County students in grades K-6.  (more on Temptation6 in the next few days)

It is inspiring to be part of a group of mindful, strong,  talented women. I am proud to say that we are all as committed to our families and careers, as we are to our community.

Art6 is a dynamic group of professional painters, determined to follow our passion.

I will soon have a page dedicated to art6, Please look for it and make sure to visit  the members websites and blogs.
