I need a wife
Post created Friday, March 19th, 2010 by Maite Benito Agahnia.
It’s been 18 days since my last post for no apparent reason, except the fact that I am completely overwhelmed.
My house is still being attacked by bins and boxes with toys and art supplies and office stuff. The happy day where each thing walks itself into their new location has not arrived. It’s been slow, but I’m at the tail end of it. I should have my studio up and running by next week.
I haven’t painted since before the Temptation6 show, It feels like the longest I have ever gone without grabbing a paintbrush.
Then, remember that 365 photo project I started March 1st? well, I haven’t taken a picture in 7 days. I have taken a few, but haven’t uploaded to flickr, actually, I haven’t even downloaded the images from my camera…where is my camera?
I can’t find anything. I’m going crazy.
I’m participating in Art Walk this year, which is fast approaching, as well as the kids Spring Break. I need more time in the day, I need a wife to help me get organized and to feed my kids, most importantly, I need to paint.
Today I start a monotype 4 day workshop. I can’t wait, even if the bins of toys and gathered up junk from years past still sit in my living room, I will enjoy, and learn and express and loose myself for 4 days. Ta-dá

I checked out his work. fantastic! thanks for the link Bertrand.
Maite, I know it sucks when life gets in the way, but just imagine how amazing it is going to feel once you pick up that paint brush again.
So how’s that workshop going? I hear the instructor is a little…? Ha Ha!!
ha! ok.. ready?
The instructor is: pretty fucking funny, incredibly talented, and very inspiring. I’ll tell you this: when I grow up, I want to be like her.
All joking aside Amber (not that I was joking, because it’s all true), you are awesome. One of the best workshops I’ve taken. On my drive home I was thinking about my next blog entry, writing about it all, then my kids were hungry. I made lasagna I dropped it on the floor, carefully picked it up, rearranged it, had some wine…then more wine. No time for blog, BUT my mind is swirling with excitement for tomorrow. One more day of monotyping workshop. weeee!!!
When you find that wife of yours let me know, I would like to rent her for a couple of weeks. I think I need one too.
