A margarita and another lousy update.
It feels like every time I come in here it’s the same story…”wow! look at that! I haven’t written in a million years…because of ‘this’, ‘that’ and then some more of ‘that’ so let me update you..” GAH!
So I guess as a blogger I am, as my kids say, and “epic fail.” but I’m not ready to give it all up completely. I will not accept the “epic fail” title just yet. Let’s just call me a “sporadic blogger” VERY “sporadic.”
My life in a nutshell…let’s see, it’s been almost 2 months since my last post so here is Cliffs Notes:
Passion6 was a great success I got phenomenal response to my Strangers series, and I am continuing to explore the theme as well as the medium…We sold our house and moved to a new beautiful house that sits on a golf course..ok, not beautiful, maybe it was at one point, but it will be again once we are done with it. Think construction and all the ‘joys’ (insert sarcasm tone here) that come with it. I am preparing for ArtWalk which is in 2 weeks and (insert anxiety scream here) I’m a bit overwhelmed….
Why am I overwhelmed you ask? because I was chosen as one of the 12 featured artists this year (insert genuine enthusiasm and pride) and I want to make sure I am prepared with new work as well as ready for my scheduled tv interviews (insert anxiety scream again, just a bit higher than last)~breathes into paper bag~. I have also been in a few articles.
Add to that the parenting bit with two schools, 2 carpools, 2 sets of activities… sex talks with my almost 13 year old boy which have included masturbation and its different “slang” words, respect, ‘grinding’ and just yesterday…oral sex. Yes. that’s right. *gasp* I’d like to add that it was simply prevention, not as a consequence of anything. I tell myself every day that my responsibility as a mother on the sex front is to raise men who are compassionate and respectful of women, and CAREFUL. (emphasizing careful) physically as well as emotionally.
On the leisure front..I have taken 2 fantastic trips which have recharged me but more importantly helped me not to loose perspective on the importance of enjoying life and reconnecting with friends as well as family outside of the craziness of the everyday rat race. I did not tell my kids ONCE to do anything (otherwise known as nagging) in an entire week. Not ONCE! “yay!! Mom can be fun too” (Just make sure she gets some Margaritas and an occasional massage).
